…FINALLY

Tag: Uncategorizedammogirl @ 10:20 am

I have THE BEST NEWS EVER.  Can you guess what it is?  CAN YOU?  I’ll give you a hint:  house

Oh yes, you guys.  It’s true.  I found out at lunch today, after John (who is HORRIBLY sneaky and knew all day long) had gotten back from signing the paperwork (and taking the girls shopping at the MALL, and um, hi, where is my husband?).  I have absolutely no details to give you other than we got our asking price and we have a 30 day escrow, but really, who cares about everything else, right?  GOD I am so relieved…perhaps now I can get some sleep…or wait…what if something happens before escrow closes?  Shit.

Other than that, I realized today that when the movers come to pack up my room on Monday, and I move into billeting, that I will not have internet.  For ten days.  I will not have internet for ten days.  I mean, there are computers on base I can USE, but…not mine.  If only there were wireless internet…wait.  There IS.  At the BX and Chow hall.  Well, then, if only I didn’t have one of the recalled Dell batteries that might explode at any moment and consume me in a ball of fire and melting plastic.  And, YES, I’ve gotten a replacement for it but they wouldn’t ship it to Korea so I had it sent to John, and then the post office wouldn’t let HIM mail it to Korea, so.  I’m taking my life in my hands, here.  I do it for you.  And, that’s actually a lie, because I keep my laptop plugged in and haven’t used the battery since I was on midtour which was way before the recall or maybe right at the same time but ANYWAY it doesn’t matter, because I wouldn’t be lugging my laptop across base to sit in the CHOW HALL regardless, not even to write a post.

What this means is, while I do have A post drafted up, it is only one and it is for a specific purpose, so starting Monday, posts might be few and frequent.  If I can get to a computer when there aren’t 73000 people walking behind me staring at what I’m writing (what is she TYPING, GOD, she’s been at that FOREVER!!!) then I will post a quick entry or two, to keep you updated on my last two weeks here.

And how fabulous is THAT?  I have four days of work left.  I am going up north for one last shopping trip this Saturday, my stuff is getting packed up on Monday, and I head up to Seoul on October 5th, for an overnight stay at the uber fancy Incheon Hyatt (paid for by the military, hee) which is, according to their website, only two minutes away from the airport that I will be flying out of the very next day.  Fifteen days.  I can hardly believe it, at this point.  I mean, it hasn’t sunk in yet, at all.  But I am ready, you guys.  So very ready to leave this country behind, and finally get on to the next one, the boy and the bebes right by my side.

Auf Wiedersehen!!!

I’m doing a happy dance for you right now. Nothing will happen while it’s in escrow, so go ahead and finish your last four days of work and have fun shopping. Order room service at the Hyatt and get your butt home!
