Apparently I am relegated to only updating weekly for now. So.
I have been to SO many appointments and signed my name SO many times and recieved SO MUCH ‘helpful’ pieces of paper over the past week I want to die. However, the main part of our inprocessing is done now. Also done: procurement of cell phones (prohibitively expensive here, like, don’t ask for my number because I will probably not turn my phone, ever) AND internet/home phone appointment. The good news is, internet is pretty fast here, the bad news - we don’t know if we’ll be able to get it at our house yet. You guys! What would I do? John assures me everything will work out but I refuse to listen to him for dramaticality sake. It’s more fun to assume the sky is falling.Â
Oh! We also took our German driving tests, and I would like to let you know that John did NEARLY as well as I did. We both passed, of course, and since we are both sick of asking people to drive us around (or, I mean, JOHN is sick of asking, I just sort of…go along for the ride. Whoever is driving) and neither of our cars, unfortunately, will be here until mid-November, we bit the bullet and rented a car for a month. We’re riding in style - a Ford Fiesta. Oh yes, we’re cool. I drove around a bit (on base ONLY - I’m not stupid. Or…brave) and made it through my first traffic circle unscathed, with only a slight amount of panicking (When do I go! What do I DO?!).Â
Today being Saturday, we did a little drive around the local villages, to get our bearings, and to get used to driving around here. It’s…different. The right-of-way laws are a bit hard to get used to, and the streets are very narrow. But, it’s absolutely gorgeous. It’s like, farmland and forest, then a small village, then more forest, and on and on. I SWEAR I will take pictures soon…
John is staring at me and making me very uncomfortable right now which means our time is about up and it’s time to say goodbye to the Cyber Cafe for today…
I hope everyone is well, I haven’t had a chance to read anyone’s blog. I am dying a slow death by internet withdrawal here. Instead of bugs on the walls I keep seeing the firefox symbol.Â

I feel for you, girl! I would die without my Internet access, too. It’s almost like being denied that morning cup of coffee or a shower, even. I’m so happy things are settling for you, though, and despite the drama-factor, I hope you get Internet access at your new house pronto.

Glad you are having fun! Give your gorgeous family smooches from me. Glad your all back together again. You sound fantastically HAPPY! Today is our 5 yr. anniversary, however I don’t count it ’cause in January it will actually be 10 yrs. Isn’t that worthy of something sparkly-ish??? Seeing as how I have recieved nothing sparkly yet today? I will have to keep believing that;)What’s the time diffrence over there?

Well, this IS Germany. If you can’t get the internet at your house, call an engineer from the tiny village down the road.

Hi miss, just wanted to drop in and say *Hi* as I’ve not dropped by in far too long and everything seems to be happening, new jobs, new schools, new cars, new countries…
