Happy Thanksgiving!!
It’s Thanksgiving, and I’m in between cooking tasks - turkey (bleh, sorry, not a turkey fan. Or pumpkin pie. Is that un-American? Well, I AM half Brit, you know. Blame my mom.) anyway, the turkey is in the oven, potatoes chopped up and ready to boil, sweet potatoes ready for the oven, cranberry sauce made. Now it’s time for the shower, and a little family time, and of course, a post.
So. What am I thankful for? I think we all know the answer to that. Last year, on this day, I was standing in a dormitory kitchen, making pecan pies for a dinner with people I hardly knew. This year, I’m making an entire dinner for my family, in my kitchen, in my house. I don’t need much more than that. Well, okay, I DO, but you know what I mean. I love my family, even when they bug me. I’m thankful they love me, because I KNOW I bug them.
I’m also thankful for the Butter Pecan ice cream sitting in my freezer. I will be eating that instead of pie. I will douse it with caramel sauce, and eat the whole pint if I want, because it is Thanksgiving and everything is calorie free. If I had my way (and if my mom was here) I would actually be eating Mincemeat pies, but my mom is not here, so. Butter Pecan ice cream it is, and not a bad trade, actually.
I hope everyone has a great holiday today, and everything tastes delicious, even if it is turkey and pumpkin pie. I won’t hold your horrible food choices against you.
What I will do, however, is ask: what are YOU thankful for? Is it your family? Cake? Being healthy? It’s important to know, you know. Be grateful for something - like…big cupholders in your car that will hold the largest drink containers. Or, Cinnabon. Or, the color pink. Once you’ve figured it out, tell me what it is, because I’m nosey.
I am also done for now. Have a fabulous day, you guys.
Tschuss!!

I am thankful that I was able to get a deal on a massive quantity of Pez from a wholesaler. Otherwise we would have nothing to stuff the turkey with.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy thanksgiving, my dear! When boy and I woke up this morning, we just cuddled for a few hours with the cat, dozing. I am thankful for love and lazy mornings and the company of felines. We talked about thankfulness, from the quiet of our cozy nook. We wondered: what percentage of the world is waking up in warm beds this morning? I suspect a smaller percentage than we would hope.
In other news, I’m not a Thanksgiving food girl either.
Hugs!!

Happy happy Thanksgiving! I have to admit, Thanksgiving is one of my favourite holidays although I don’t like turkey. I am an avid fan of pumpkin pie, but the ice cream and caramel also sound yummy!
May you and your family have an amazing time.

Happy Thanksgiving! I’m thankful for all the great bloggers out there who entertain me. I’ll also be thankful for the super cheap turkey I’ll buy post thanksgiving, because I think turkey is one of the greatest things ever.

I am late as I am out of town. However I am thankful for being here with Matt’s Family as his Grandma has just a few days left before she will be walking with the angels. What a blessing to be with someone you love and to be able to help take care of them in their last hours. Life is so short she is an amazing woman and she will be so missed. I am thankful for my beautiful boys and loving husband. I am also thankful for the COOLEST Aunt EVER!!! Give you family a belated holiday hug from me.

How could I have forgotten to check my comments?! I am horrible!
Mr. Pez - I hear the orange Pez flavor the turkey quite well. And provide a crunchy glaze. Inside.
Pix - I spent a few moments wondering the same thing. No matter how bad, we still have it better than so many.
LMM - If I had some pie left, I would send it to you! Alas, my family is a bunch of rotten pigs. It’s their fault, I made two.
Angel - I’m NOT, really! You just wait until…one day in the future when I can prove it!
FG - If you eat all that turkey, you will not be FlatGreg anymore. Ha ha!
Mindy - I am happy you were able to spend some time with her. I’m sure you guys brightened her day. And you are pretty much tops yourself. In the niece department, that is.
