it’s only been two months

So. The going away party was fun, and I was home and in bed asleep by 1210, so really, a fabulous time all around. Myself and three of my coworkers spent the evening playing fake poker, with sips of beer and/or days off as the stakes, and I’m pretty sure I won everything. We also played a drinking game where each person has their own “sign” and at random times someone would flash their sign (I had originally typed that as “thing” but somehow “…would flash their thing” sounded slightly…not right) and somebody else’s sign and it would go around the table until someone messed up. Hard to explain, easy to play, and a lot of fun.

One of the new guys in my shop was totally hit on by another guy, right in front of all of us, and it was the greatest thing ever. He will never live that down, in one million years. In fact, I acted out the entire thing at least three times today, and it was a big hit in the vault. The other guy was totally smooth with his line, first asking my coworker for the karaoke catalog, and after he handed it to him, opened it up, slammed it shut, put it on the table and said, “that’s okay, I already know what I want”, all the while intensely staring into coworker’s eyes. Coworker was sort of flabbergasted, to say the least.

Saturday morning we woke up to about two inches of snow on the ground, so the girls and I sat around doing random stuff…what did we do? Oh! We went shopping, and ate Greek food at the Akropolis (which is actually just a fast food place but I pretend it’s a regular restaurant and go there often because A) I love the food and B) there is never anyone there), and went to Horton Hears A Who. I was expecting that to be funnier than it was. It wasn’t bad, at all, but, it felt sort of…thrown together. And Jim Carrey is only ever Jim Carrey at this point, whether he’s stupid Ace Ventura or…any of his other characters. Except for the guy in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. He was good in that. Also, there’s this bit at the end where the entire movie is singing REO Speedwagon, and it doesn’t make any sense, at all. Can anyone explain that?

Anyway, when we got out of the movie, it was raining, and then we came home and the girls immediately retreated to their rooms with their laptops because they had been disconnected from the internets for nearly seven hours and they needed a hit, bad. I studied for the test I am taking tomorrow, the one that I am NOT GOING TO RESCHEDULE, even though I will probably fail, because IT IS BORING.

Yesterday was Easter and this was the first year we didn’t color or hide eggs and I’ll admit I totally missed it but all I could think about was what would we do with all those eggs? Because the girls wouldn’t have been happy with only coloring, say, three eggs each, or even four, so we would of had to do at least a dozen, and I like egg salad a whole lot but maybe not that much. But the Easter Bunny still came and dropped off chocolate bunnies, only not for me. That was fine because I might or might not have a secret stash of candy from my parents’ candy store hidden in the cupboard. Also, BELIEVE IT OR NOT, I’m not actually a fan of Easter candy, unless it is Cadbury Creme eggs, and I’ve had my fair share this year.

We had reservations for Sunday Brunch at the Officer’s Club at 12:30, so we semi-dressed up and headed over. Between Lindsey and Taylor I think 11 plates of crab legs were devoured. It was crazy to watch, because while I love crab, I hate getting it out of the legs. The girls? Do not care. The shells were kind of soft, making the shell cracker ineffectual, so they just jumped in with both hands and ended up…god, covered in crab. Bleh. I’m sure it was all very, very tasty but still. Ew.

After nearly two hours of that, we headed home and played video games for a bit…or…I watched them play video games while contemplating the purchase of either Guitar Hero or Rock Band. I bought neither.

I want my husband to come home.

Tschuss!!

I have no words. Gays? In the military?

    Bwa ha ha ha and..

Hee. I am totally kidding. I love gay people and the military and wish they could all just get along. :)

I totally want to buy Guitar Hero when Aerosmith comes out with theirs. I AM Joe Fucking Perry damn it!

Mmmm crab. I bought rock band for my upcoming birthday bonanza, but sadly have been so busy with work that I haven’t had a chance to even open it and try it out yet.

Rock Band.Definitely. We have both and if spending some fun time with your girls is a priority, RB is the way to go.

Love that you have a stash of candy around - reminds me I’ve got to replenish mine for sure.

Im getting guitar hero when I get home.

You’re sounding like my wife on this one lol, except she only has to deal with one 1 yr old boy… that sounds like its enough for her though lol

Rock Band all the way. It’s like Guitar Hero but on crack. It’s awesome. I can’t say enough. You will LOVE it and it may become your new addiction Ms. Internet Addict. Yeah.. no idea where the girls get that from.. hm..

Kay - I was about to get irritated and then…you saved yourself :)

FG - Oh I know, just send it here, and I’ll try it for you! When’s your birthday?

Kari - Rock Band it is!

Rodney - I think it’s easier and harder in different ways. With a 1 yr old, you’re definitely having to be in the game all the time, but you don’t have to deal with the drama. I’m not sure which one is better, really!

MD - I’m getting better! I totally am!
