Today, I got my Slanket in the mail. IT. IS. FUCKING AWESOME! When these things first started showing up in commercials I laughed with everybody else but secretly I was like, damn, that’s sort of…a good idea, really. And then I promptly forgot about it like I do most things in my life like, birthdays and communicating with friends and family. But then two weeks ago I went to the best hair girl EVER Casey and she was in a state of high excitement because on that day she had received in the mail HER blanket with sleeves (NOT a Slanket, but a Snuggie. I prefer Slankets, FYI) and after checking hers out and discussing the pros (there are no cons) (unless you count looking like a wizard/monk as a con) I thought, well, GOSH, I WANT ONE TOO. And also Casey colored and cut my hair so exceedingly well that MY OWN DAUGHTERS were like, DANG, mom, you look GREAT and I thought, THE POWER OF THE ARMED BLANKET MUST BE MINE.
So.
I immediately came home and researched the different types, decided I wanted the Slanket, and ordered three. No, not all for me, silly, but for the girls too. They were shipped separately (I don’t know why, perhaps because they are TOO AWESOME to be shipped together. Like, they cannot be contained more than one to a box) but whatever, I received mine and when I got home I immediately put it on and jumped around the house surprising the other occupants with its greatness. Lindsey: You look like a wizard Taylor: Hi Harry Potter. You actually got a SLANKET? (with the most ginormous amount of derision and ridicule that you can possibly imagine in her voice) me: Yes! And I got you one too! Taylor: !!! REALLY!!! (with unmeasurable amounts of happiness because secretly EVERYONE WANTS AN ARMED BLANKET).
Anyway! Right now I am on my bed, laying on top of my covers but feelin’ totally comfy because HI THIS THING IS AWESOME. Why didn’t I think of this? It’s perfect! I LOVE ARMED BLANKETS.
I had to shovel my driveway three times today and you know what? I would not be wasting my time if I went out and did it again. But I can’t shovel in my Slanket. So I won’t.

Open letter time!
Dear person who feels morally superior to the majority,
Being sneaky will always, ALWAYS come back on you. That’s great that you feel what you did was any different than what was already done, but backstabbing is backstabbing regardless. If the actions were so offensive to you, don’t associate with the offendees–unless you waiting to unleash your knowledge of life upon us once more. In the end, you accomplished zero besides making yourself look sneaky. Honestly, I already thought you were not worth my time because of your atrocious attitude towards those you claim to support so strongly. You’re a hypocrite, and I thought you should know.
Sincerely,
Treena
P.S. Your nicknames are stupid.

You know that Facebook bra color meme that’s been spreading like wildfire? Of COURSE somebody got offended and luckily it was in response to one of my FB friends. Well! I couldn’t not A) Respond or B) send it in to STFUBelievers. So I did.
John came home for the holidays, by the way. It was awesome, and then sad, because he had to leave again. Now we’ve all settled down into our regular routine again, with the addition of Lindsey’s boyfriend James who practically lives here. I like to have him around to take out the trash and get things off the high shelves (he’s very tall). Also I like to have him around because no parent could ask for a better boyfriend for their daughter.
Also I’m doing Weight Watchers, and so far I love it. While I don’t necessarily want to lose weight, I did feel like I need a little nudge after the holidays to start eating healthy again. Doing this makes me keep track of my portions and the quality of the food I’m eating, and I realized what I was eating was ginormous amounts of crap. It was really tough the first week, I was hungry and cranky and tired, and then WHAM! One day I woke up and felt GREAT, and the only thing I can figure is that all this healthy eating (vegetables. LOTS of them) with the addition of no sugar or processed foods since the 27th of Dec acted like a detox. For real! I also started up a workout routine again, after taking the entire month of December off. I do a TRX workout three mornings a week (my current fave: Cardio Circuit) and the cross-trainer at the gym on alternate days. I am still on a profile for my foot; I go in for an MRI on the 11th so hopefully things will start to get sorted out. It sucks not being able to do any cardio but the cross-trainer, but it’s so freaking cold and snowy here right now it really doesn’t matter anyway.
I should find out where we’re moving to soon andddd…I’m pretty nervous about the whole situation, but I do have a few irons in the fire on that subject.
Finally, I’m still slogging through school, but after the two classes I’m taking now are done I only have 6 more left plus my final project and I’ll be done! I can’t believe I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I should have the classes wrapped up by October; not sure how long the final project takes.
One of my resolutions was to make up my mind what to do with this site: keep it and resolve to post more, or just shut it down completely. Stay tuned!
Tschuss!!
