Good god is this month OVER YET? My life is NOT THAT EXCITING. Check it:
Today I woke up. I started coffee. I peed. I drank coffee. I surfed the internet. I started working out. I woke Lindsey up. I argued with Lindsey about whether or not she was going to school (i won). I worked out more. I woke Taylor up. I took a shower. I dropped the girls off at school. I worked, ALL FREAKING DAY LONG. I came home. I made dinner. I am now hanging out with Lindsey. And that is my day.
Seriously boring crap, AND all the snow from last night melted, which really put a DAMPer on things–ha ha! See what I did there?
…OH MY GOD Nablopomo needs to END.
Btw, do you like Jiffy cornbread? The sweet and moist kind? Well! I have found the replacement for it. I will post the recipe when Lindsey stops reading over my shoulder as I type.
Okay bye.
Tschuss!!
Today has been such an perfect day. Leila cancelled yoga, leaving me with extra time on my hands, so I jumped into the kitchen and I really haven’t left all day. I started out with tonight’s dinner, crockpot chili, then moved on to regular sandwich bread, cinnamon raisin bread, and corn bread.
I changed chili recipe slightly, substituting 1/2 bag black beans and 1/2 bag navy beans because I wanted to. I started soaking them last night, and I’m really excited to see how this turns out; it’s the first time I’ve ever used dried beans before. It smells good, anyway. And after many, many attempts at homemade cornbread, I finally found a recipe that has batter that tastes like the Jiffy mix, but EVEN BETTER. I am not a cornbread purist, with the dry and non-sweet that entails. Nope, I want it like cake. Yum.
This is going to be a great week, because it’s only three days long. Work-wise, that is. All I have left to buy for Thanksgiving dinner is the fruit and veg trays, potatoes, celery and onion. And I’m sending John out to brave the Wednesday-before-Thanksgiving chaos (with a list, of course), so really, stress free. I thought about being really ambitious and making bread, letting it get stale, and using it for stuffing, but I caved and bought some Pepperidge Farm stuffing-in-a-bag mix. It’s good, it’s simple…I don’t want to spend ALL day in the kitchen.
When did this blog turn into Ammogirl Cooks? Jeez.
It’s supposed to snow all week here. I am the only person not excited by that.
Tschuss!!
I don’t know what’s wrong with me. I got 9 hours of sleep Thursday night. Last night I was asleep by 10 and didn’t wake up until 9 this morning. And less than three hours later, I was standing in the shower struggling to not fall asleep–and that was AFTER two cups of coffee. But besides the sore throat, I don’t have sick symptoms, I’m just exhausted.
John is at a poker night tonight and the girls and I ordered in Italian and are watching movies. We just got finished with Troy and next up is Harry Potter 5. And then, bed. I’m tired.
Tschuss!!
